It is an empirical fact that, a series of actions performed, following a constant line, do call, not only for the attention of the human mind, but they do also prove a point. The world is full of such examples where, to evaluate the end-product of any action, be it good or bad, one has to retrace only the sequence of previously performed actions, put all the similar pieces together and follow their interconnecting details in order to reach to assess the final result. This is one of the commonly used ways to prove a point.

Similarly, the frequent use of a particular language, be it spoken or written, repeatedly reflecting the same wording or the use of identical syntax (sentence-building), proves the style of a speaker or of a writer. This is the basic and commonly followed principle of linguistics and stylistics, in its scientific study, analysis and understanding of the surface and deeper meanings of the language. Those refuting this theory, should attend such school, in order to get and learn the basic elements of that subject.

Nowadays, reading through the information material, being continuously provided in the Internet, in Kunama language, (a very laudable enterprise, mind you), one keeps bumping into the same type of wording, of sentence-building, of the underlying aims of the similarity of the topics being selected and written on and the kinds of closely related messages being sent across. It is not therefore an enigma to guess who the writer is and what his intentions are, no matter how hard the author may try to use the Kunama words in the various Kunama dialects indifferently, in order perhaps, to conceal his identity, whether he is a Kunama Aimasa, Barka, Ilita, Itana (Marda), Sokodasa or Tika. However, knowing already, not only his person, character and dialect, but also his cunningly and deviously orchestrated politics of today trying to shift his main objectives, from purely personal and organisation-oriented (only he as ERKU’s leader and ERKU as his own self), on to the Kunama ethno-cultural and territorial affairs, the VKP’s team has no doubt whatsoever to identify and state that the author of the numerous articles today appearing on the ENA’s web-site, the “Erit-Alliance.org”, both on the front page as well as on the “Kunama” section, is and can be no other than only the present DMLEK’s top-leader, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman himself, who keeps trying to change hairs but not vices in that he still keeps acting as if he were not a murderer of four of his fellow-Kunama. His thoughts and viewpoints come over clearly in the whole of his pieces of writing. There are not so many Kunama with an easy access to the Internet.

If the repetitive syntactic and morphological uses of a language too do determine a writer’s style, then the series of articles and their contents are only the products of Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman. As a matter of fact, his writing-style as well as the contents of his main themes are characterised by the use of the language of accusation, defamation, intimidation, persecution and execution of the people confronting him, his authority and his exponentially dictatorial leadership. He enjoys denigrating all and everyone.

In his two latest articles, always in Kunama language, written in the normal language and the third one, written in a poetical form, the man, “comments” on and “analyses” the following three topics:

1.- The Kunama Unity Shall Not Break Because Of The Intrigues

Fomented By The Shabia Regime’s;

2.- It Is The ENA’s Aim We Eritreans Returned Our Liberation Into Our

Own Hands;

3.- The Meaning of Kunama (is) Kunama.

As we stated in previous occasions, the present DMLEK’s leader, who has officially been ousted from the top-leadership post of the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of the Eritrean Kunama, because of his homicidal acts against four of our Kunama ethnic-group members, he is still resisting to that call and practically continuing to control and run the “Erit-Alliance.org”, as well as the DMLEK itself, writing series of articles in the Kunama language, perhaps trying and hoping to regain the trust of the Kunama people, he has long lost, now raising issues on the Kunama people’s ethnic, cultural and territorial matters; issues, most of which, he has been ignoring during the long-eight (8) years he had been keeping the top-leadership post and leading the organisation ever since uncontested. Such instability too is an indicative piece of evidence proving the point of his arrogant and incoherent behaviour. The man is unrepentant in his actions.

Though we are not here to comment on the entire contents of his three articles mentioned above, we shall be however picking out the points we believe to be following a constant line and therefore intended to send across, the same message, in the same way. Let us first of all clearly point out that, throughout those eight years, the DMLEK’s leader, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, through his iron-fist dictatorial methods, has been forming, shaping and giving the organisation, the characteristics, typical of his own arrogant personality, cruel and devious character as well as very uncompromising determination in applying acts of violence (murder), whenever he imagined and saw his personal interests being threatened and the leadership-post of the organisation to be at stake, but only and above all, in his own fantasy. He has distorted, reduced and identified the DMLEK with his own person and personality so much so that he is today unable to differentiate his own self from that Kunama Organisation and Movement. This is the reason why he keeps refusing to step down from its leadership post, believing that, his absence would mean the end of that organisation, which had anyway been founded without him and it would surely continue even without him, if he were to step down without insisting to stay on and creating more problems.

Concerning Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, there are other still more negatively tainting and far more damaging factors, still under research but they shall be revealed in their due times, which will seriously incriminate not only his own person but also some of his own top-leadership members. There are certain hidden activities, the stubborn present DMLEK’s leader has been conducting for sometime which are and will be of grave concern also to the DMLEK itself. For the time-being though, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman’s murderous acts, carried out against those four Kunama individuals remain more than enough evil-deeds for him to step down from the DMLEK’s leadership as well as interrupt all his activities and connections with and within the ENA too, where he has been anyway known to be playing the big boss. The man is projecting a very wrong picture of the Kunama character and therefore ruining the Kunama people’s good name of being naturally and

typically peaceful and conflict-avoiding society. A murderous and an arrogant leader today is not and cannot be taken either as an innocent or as a “charismatic” future leader of the Kunama people. We Kunama have better battle today to rest tomorrow, though this time round, our battle is against our own kinds, struggling for their own rather than for our ethnic, cultural and territorial rights and interests. Let them reflect on this distortion of the whole objective of founding, having and running the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of the Eritrean Kunama.

The real Kunama were its prime founders who had the only aim of freeing their people from their past, present and future plights. They would have never thought of hurting neither it nor cherish hidden objectives.

Going back to the core message of Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman’s two articles, written in prose, the overall argument is on the Shabia regime’s acts of injustices being committed against the Kunama race in their own land .Though not tolerating this, but in fact, very categorically accusing and condemning the devious political manoeuvres, being undertaken nowadays by the PFDJ regime of Mr. Isayas Afwerki, sending his messengers to the Kunama land to try to soothe the Kunama people, by either claiming to have recently liberated those “70 Kunama prisoners” or even trying to clean its own hands by shouldering on and accusing the Kunama themselves of having been the instruments which have led those individuals and other Kunama people to detention and imprisonment, one fact remains that, the Shabia regime has always been, still is and will always remain the major enemy of the Kunama people, but what is the basic difference, between the unexplainable cruelty committed and being committed and exercised by Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman and his top-leadership members against and upon their own fellow-Kunama, and that of the Shabia regime? One can only say that the present Eritrean regime is anyway a non-Kunama force, hating and acting against the Kunama people, but why are today our own kinds turning against us and against our own Kunama brothers and sisters? Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, today become the “ring-leader” of that new wave of the Kunama contra-forces, raising against, undermining and threatening, not only the lives of our individual fellow-Kunama, but also the very existence of the entire Kunama race, are more damagingly threatening forces than the Shabia itself. Your own kinds can often turn into and become your worse enemies and this is exactly what Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman and his top-leadership comrades have become; the declared enemies of their own Kunama race. They are leading our people into hating their own kinds.

To the question why Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman, does keep writing in Kunama and sending accusations of injustices by the Shabia regime against the Kunama people, addressing the Kunama public itself in their language, rather than directly addressing the Shabia regime itself, writing in the language (Tigrigna) it can understand, our counter-argument is because, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman’s present and immediate objective is to try to win back, the trust and the support of the Kunama people, he has surely and badly lost, following his murderous homicidal activities. The VKP’s team in fact, completely fails to understand why the present DMLEK’s, now illegal, leader keeps telling the Kunama people that the Shabia regime is out there only to persecute them. The Kunama already know this, as they have been

and are experiencing it on daily bases and therefore they do not need to be constantly reminded of their plights by Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman.

As the leader of the Kunama movement, struggling for his people’s rights, the DMLEK’s boss should have been carrying out concrete activities to counter-attack the evil-deeds of the Shabia regime, instead of sitting idle in a

far away secure place, talking, writing, accusing and threatening, and only sporadically appearing among the Kunama combatants in the fields, only to dispense his typically dictatorial orders. If the DMLEK’s leader had ever believed that “actions speak louder than words,” he should not have been and would not be only talking, writing and providing the material of his own personal convictions, to be radio-addressed to the Kunama people, in their language, what the regime has done, is and will be doing to bring about more plights upon them, but take concrete actions to break that cycle.

In one of his many pieces of writing, the DMLEK’s leader claimed that, the late Mr. Alexander Matuk Addalla, “was murdered in 19996 by Abdullahi Yousuph Kaled – (brother of Hussein Yousuph Khaled) in collaboration with Mustapha Nur Hussein. The Co-writer and webmaster of the web – in all their lives has been sending warnings and insults towards Mustapha Nur Hussein” What has Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman so far done about that murderer and his accomplice? Why has, the present DMLEK’s leader, up to now, not taken any concrete steps, stern actions and even appropriate measures, both against the killer as against the master-minding agent, Mr. M. Nur Hussein, who has been governing the region undisturbed, freely committing untold injustices against the Kunama people, ever since the Shabia regime came to power in the 1990s? Is Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman now trying even to defend “Mustapha Nur Hussein” from the “insults and warnings of the Co-writer and webmaster of the web?” There is something mysterious here. Let, both Mr. Mustafa Nurhussein and Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman know that, in matters involving homicidal activities, the web-maters of the Kunama web-site and the co-writer are not and will never be sparing accusations of crimes even their own ethnic-member, turned a murderer, let alone a stranger killing our ethnic-members.

Had the DMLEK’s leader taken any concrete and direct actions against those two strangers and murderers in the Kunama land, he would have, by now, given a positive proof and sent a very clear message, to the Kunama people, to the Shabia regime and to the entire world-community in general that, he and the organisation he has taken over from its prime founder and first leaders, the late Mr. Alexander Matuk Addalla, are out there to combat those injustices and their perpetrators, instead of today getting himself engulfed in identical types of horrible homicidal acts against his own ethnic-members. The Shabia regime is not only very aware of its injustices against the Kunama people but it also knows, by now, that, Mr. Adolay Kornelios Osman himself has other and totally different objectives than caring for the immediate well-fare and well-being of his own Kunama people. He is out there to build himself a position, a name and some other yet hidden commodities, far removed from the main objectives of dedicating himself and the organisation, which he has been now leading for a number of years and reduced only to servicing him and his ambitions, rather than struggling for the just cause of the Kunama people. Let him be the critic of his own self.

Why has Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman been sending his messages only in Kunama and randomly also in Tigrigna language? Are the two communities not aware of the plights afflicting more the one than the other, because of the Shabia regime’s evil policy of ethnic discrimination and persecution?

Why does Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman not write in English so as to inform, call for the attention of and involve the international community, the

International Human Rights Organisations and other Humanitarian Agencies to put more pressure on the cruel dictatorial regime of Mr. Isayas Afwerki, either to lead the country and its people on the bases of just and democratic principles or step down from his dictatorial leadership and let others take over the job? Why does not the DMLEK’s leader too do the same, after his homicidal acts which have made him completely lose every credibility and trust of his own Kunama people? To our view, not having objectives beyond certain limits of his own personal interests, Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman has been limiting also his activities and those of the DMLEK’s too, within the realms of his own immediate political and other personal interests. For the present DMLEK’s leader, the overall aim of struggling for the just cause of the Kunama people can be said to have always been a cosmetic and auxiliary one, serving more himself than neither the organisation nor the Kunama, otherwise he would not have imprisoned, tortured and eventually hanged and killed his own fellow-Kunama who themselves had been motivated by genuine intentions to struggle for the rights of their own people.

There are very basically serious reasons which are compelling us to come to this point and state that, Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman has never been sincere in his aims, either in leading the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of the Eritrean Kunama to struggle for the rights of the Kunama people or dedicate himself for that cause but to use, as his spring-board, the DMLEK as well as the Kunama people’s ethnic and territorial rights, to achieve other objectives. Those other objectives will be the future themes.

As we have already mentioned, there are other deeply rooted and underlying reasons, still matters of on-going research-work, likely to reveal very embarrassing realities, concerning Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman himself and his top-leadership members, in front of which all those fellow-Kunama still somehow believing in and supporting him will have to reflect very seriously for, the guy has brought himself and his top-leadership colleagues, into a very messy situation, to come of which will be just as difficult and embarrassing. Those fellow-Kunama supporters too will have difficult times, in trying to reconcile their faithfulness to him with his crimes and the rest.

Let us conclude, by directly addressing you, Mr. Kornelios Adolay Osman, your immediate leadership members and all those still faithful supporters of yours, to stay tuned and be ready for the very big but also very bitter and very deeply hurting surprise. It will be a shame, for the DMLEK’s leadership, for the DMLEK itself and for all of us Kunama who had a great faith in it.
