MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE ERITREAN
COMMUNITY IN AUSTRALIA
(Eritrean National Alliance January 19, 2004 )

This message of solidarity is in appreciation of the resolution reached upon by the Eritrean Community in Australia, dispatched via internet Jan. 12, 2004

We admire and fully support the theme, the proceeding and resolutions of the event and the demonstrations that were made to highlight the event, an event that witnessed the Community's staunch position against the dictatorial system. Fully endorsing the bold and genuine measure taken by the Community, we convey our message of solidarity with our compatriots in Australia and all Eritreans elsewhere struggling against the one-man dictatorial system. The Eritrean National Alliance (ENA) shares the same conviction as did the Community in Australia- courage, compassion and commitment.

The Community in Australia has in unequivocal terms vowed that it shall wage peaceful struggle with the vision of enhancing justice and democracy in Eritrea- a dream the Eritrean peoples have been yearning to achieve for many years.

The Community has according to the same resolution confirmed it has made its position explicit, in that it has elevated the extent of its devotion to resolve the Eritrean predicament to a profound and much higher scale; "we made a promise-we took an oath" a promise converted into oath, an oath of far reaching consequences, an oath founded on courage, compassion and commitment, a vow that is bound to bring about solidarity of all opposition forces struggling against the belligerent system.

Apart from condemning the vile and vices of the brutal system, the Community has on the same occasion advised Eritrean to refrain from being sympathetic to PFDJ's relentless but devious propaganda; and reminded them lest they be deceived by its sinister fabrications of lies infested with sugar-coated lip-service candor. And that is what ENA is all about. In other words, the Community is serving as an activist and an advocate of the betrayed peoples of Eritrea, and hence deserves the highest credit pursuant to the irrevocable and irreversible demand and struggle required to liberate the Eritrean people from the harsh rules of the rogue system.

The Community's message to the blood-thirsty regime is precise, clear and to the point; "No more blood. No more killing". "No more wars". Those bold words by a valiant Community will vibrate inside the eardrums of the Eritrean society and resonate and splash like waves across the world; and their implications to the inflexible regime will mean "crushing and devastating", which it rightly deserves. Those strong words would certainly boost the damaged sprit and the wounded minds of the peoples of Eritrea; those words wouldn't only express the frozen mood of the peoples but are also captivating, tantalizing, motivating, inspiring and agitating words to the accomplishment of desired ends.

"Education Yes-slavery No" is the passive but hidden slogan of Eritrean youth, who in thousands of them have either perished in the border war or are still agonizing inside dark fox-holes. EritrYANA has voiced out and loud those right demands on their behalf. It is desirable and natural that such and similar demands for the benefit of the disenchanted youth and for the sake of the virtues of democracy to prevail across Eritrea.

EritrYANA's resolute commitment to resolve the plight of the Eritrean peoples is not confined to the above mentioned irrevocable vows. In concluding its impeccable resolution, it stated "we call for peaces but we will never submit to tyranny" - a similar call oft-voiced by ENA - a slogan that could streamline the unwavering struggle of the Eritrean peoples into a united force of opposition. It is a realistic call of the day-appropriate, timely and applicable to the Eritrean appalling situation.

Eritreans are not vying but dying for national stability, peace, justice and democracy. They are more than aware of the humiliation, imprisonment, maiming, killing and military regimentation because they are exposed to all these evils and atrocities on daily basis. The regime is a hard-core police-state no less than a totalitarian one. Nonetheless, they are also persistently paying their lives in quest of national sovereignty and territorial integrity which is on the brink of disintegration under the brutal system. Their valiance is however being ferociously suppressed by the antihuman regime. They are in constant fear and illusion. Their plight is dehumanizing and their future fate is difficult to assume or speculate. They are left to brood or contemplate over their predicament which is worsening by the day. They are denied access to their tongues to speak out their grievances.

They are tight-lipped. The hideous security establishment of the terrorist regime deploys its haunting moles every where-from open markets to leisure spots; and from big hotels to hospitals. It is therefore; highly commendable that EritrYANA is speaking for the people. We hope other Eritrean communities in other countries follow the courage, compassion and commitment demonstrated by valiant EritrYANA.

Once again, ENA would like to express its solidarity with EritrYANA. And our message is "Keep up your courage, compassion and commitment to the final end pursuant to your oath. We wish you success in all your efforts to that highly cherished objective.
